I have worked in specialty coffee for about 7 years, both in Portland and in Seattle. Over that time I have worked in retail, management, sales, quality control, and roasting. Currently, I work as Head Roaster and Green Buyer for World Cup Coffee in Portland as well as educator at the Buckman Coffee Factory. I am also serving my second year on the board of directors for the Oregon Coffee Board, as head of marketing and membership.
I believe that my connections throughout the pacific northwest, as well as my experience on the Oregon Coffee Board will allow me to contribute to the initial organization and function of the U.S. SCA chapter. I believe that those who know me would describe me as hardworking and genuine. In all of my work in the coffee industry, I have been an advocate for increased equity for all genders and people of color. I believe firmly in the value of diversity and believe those core values need to be put in to action by increased professional opportunity and increased equity in the power structure of the industry.
